Ed Sheeran has a net worth of £370 million, and he allowed himself to be pushed around by a sanctimonious billionaire stadium owner, Robert Kraft, who said Macklemore’s use of the term Free Palestine was hate speech and antisemitic, and he had no choice but to ban him from supporting Sheeran. No doubt that Kraft was cajoled into taking this action by the Israeli American Council. Just to be clear: the Israeli Reich is involved in ethnic cleansing and has committed genocide in Gaza, and this is according to B ‘Tselem, a Jewish human rights organisation based in Jerusalem, which produced a report in 2025 called Our Genocide. In addition, Peter Beinhart and Omer Bartov, both Jews, have come to the same conclusion. Bartov has said that the Israeli Government and Jewish lobby groups have allowed the words genocide and the holocaust to be conflated.
Sheeran thought that by blaming Kraft for the removal of Macklemore, he would get a get-out-of-jail-free card on the basis of “it’s not my fault, gov.” Then, to rub salt in the wound, he came out with BS like, “I choose to use my fame and platform to be a place of safety and sanctuary, to maintain diplomacy and keep conversations open.” He went on to say that, “Appalled by the conflict between Israel and Palestine, the suffering and pain caused on both sides is a human tragedy.” Really, “on both sides “, have you heard this somewhere before? Do you remember Heather Heyer and the incident in Charlottesville, after which Trump said that there were “good people on both sides”? What Trump meant was in relation to Nazis and anti-fascist protesters.
Look, Airhead, the murderous event on October 7th saw 1200 Israelis killed by Hamas. Since then, the Israeli stormtroopers, otherwise known as the IDF, have massacred 75,000, of whom 20,000 are children, in addition to leaving Gaza as a lunar landscape. Some say Ed has taken a neutral position; I am afraid you cannot be neutral about the killing of 20,000 children. Another stupid quote dressed up as some Buddhist insight,” I choose to use my fame and platform to be a place of safety and sanctuary, to maintain diplomacy and keep conversations open, not closed. If we only focus on shouting the loudest, nothing will ever change. There are different approaches to being an advocate for change.” This is a good time to give Ed some advice by quoting Mark Twain: “It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt”
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy said on Radio 4” I do feel for Ed Sheeran”. So do I; he has little between his ears. She went on to say that promoters were “entitled to take their own views” about whether politics and music should mix. Jesus, Lisa, music and politics have always mixed; do you not remember Free Nelson Mandela, A Change Is Gonna Come, Mississippi Goddam, Strange Fruit, The March of the Women, and A Town Called Malice.
To finish, Ed should have instantly pulled out of the tour as soon as Macklemore was banned and contributed to human rights groups working in Gaza like Medical Aid for Palestine and the 15,000 children who need prosthetic limbs. I am afraid he has a lot of growing up to do, despite his 370 million.
