Mr President

The red tsunami failed to materialise, not because of you Mr President, but thanks to the Supreme Court for overturning Roe v Wade which energised the Democratic base and got out the youth vote. In addition, there was a bunch of the electorate known as Independents who looked at the GOP and saw election deniers, white Christian Nationalists, Trump-anointed nutters such as Blake Masters, Kari Lake, Herschel Walker, Dr Oz, Don Bolduc, and said, cannot be having that, this is like looking into the abyss. They may have also concluded, “democracy is the worst form of government, except all those that have been tried from time to time.” The result, Democracy, and a woman’s right to choose, 1, culture wars, and the stop the steal, 0. Many Americans have been slow to see “The Plot Against America” but better late than never.

Trump’s bubble may have been burst but will the GOP accept that he is a political millstone? The Trumpian rag the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal, both owned by the Machiavellian Mr Murdoch seemed to have already accepted that he is a loser. The only thing that may keep Trump in the frame to become the Republican challenger for the 2024 presidency is his, “blinded by his shite” supporters. One Republican voter said, that if Trump were to be chosen as the Republican candidate to challenge Biden, he would vote for him despite his shortcoming because the alternative is worse. However, many like the guy above will continue to embrace Trump and Trumpism, whatever that is. It is most definitely not based on intellectual gravitas, a positive national vision, sustainable and climate-focused economic policies, or a strategic foreign policy platform. They, that is Trump supporters, see in him a reflection of their grievance-filled right-wing white Christian nationalism on issues such as abortion, fantasy voting fraud, the removal of their 5^th amendment rights and their belief in unhinged conspiracy theories such as the great replacement and pizza gate. They also believe that a cabal of Democrats and course Jewish elites are subverting the future of the white race in the US.

These midterms have made one thing clear if Trump stands, he loses to Biden. If there is a challenger such as DeSantis (currently being hailed as the new right-wing messiah) and he beats Trump, Mr President you may be in trouble, not because DeSantis is a great political thinker but because he has embraced the culture wars unleashed by Trump. He successfully deployed the culture wars to secure a 20-pint win over his Democratic rival in Florida’s governor’s election.

There is a clear route to success for the Democrats in 2024 that includes not just winning the presidency but also getting back control of the house and let us dream, getting that 60-seat filibuster-proof seats in the Senate. I am not American and that even excites me. The route is, to start the process of succession planning, get voting rights done, engage with the new-found youth vote, keep the climate crisis at the forefront of the policy agenda, keep pressing to codify Roe and finally, come home and embrace those blue-collar democrats that you have left behind.

GOP do not get depressed, there is an upside. The upside is that real republicans could be out of power for a couple of election cycles and in that period, you should cull the party (using normal party rules) of “Marjorie Taylor Greeners” the election deniers, alleged sex trafficker Gatz, Jim Jordan and other republican members of the “Fascist Caucus “. In the Senate, Graham, Johnson, Hawley, Grassley, and Cruz need to be politically culled or sectioned under some sort of mental health legislation because they have been so far up Trump’s ass that the lack of oxygen has affected their neural pathways. The GOP could also under the pretext of succession planning get rid of the spinless unedifying excuse for a politician McCarthy and the spinless Machiavelli, McConnell. It was McConnell, who when having the choice to impeach Trump over Jan 6^th, showed no integrity, no balls and now complains that Trump is responsible for the Republican’s underwhelming midterm performance. If he had a pair then and voted to impeach, Trump would have been history.

I have one remaining concern about the GOP: their list of possible presidential candidates have all been tainted, if not infected by their prior deference and servitude to the former president. These will include Pompeo, Cruz, Scott, Haley, and the god-fearing Christian, No Balls Pence, which leaves possibly only one credible challenger, Larry Hogan, a sort of never Trumper.

So, to all sensible republicans do not see these midterms as a loss, but as an opportunity to get your party back, get your soul back, rediscover the value of bipartisanship and once again be proud to be called, the party of Lincoln and I am Jehovah.
