The Braverman Itch

If Rishi Sunak has shown nothing else this week, he has shown that he has no grasp of what it takes to be a leader let alone a Prime Minister. He looks clueless and devoid of a vision for this country’s future highlighted by the fact he has gone back to the future, to bring back into government the half-wit that started the whole Brexit debacle. As one Labour MP accurately described it as, shifting the chairs on the Titanic. What is clear is that under the stewardship of successive Tory Prime Ministers Britain is looking more like “little than global.” The election strategy for the Tory party is clear, culture wars, migration and quite frankly, “F” all else. Watching The King’s Speech was as interesting as watching paint dry, with highlights such as the Economic Activity of Public Bodies (Overseas Matters) Bill Automated Vehicles Bill and the Football Governance Bill. Today the Supreme Court took a legal mallet to the government’s Rwanda Scheme because the evidence showed that Rwanda was not a safe country to send refugees and thus the policy was unlawful. In addition, the great British public should pillory Rishi’s mob for wasting £140 million on a scheme that has not deported a single refugee. The New Conservatives like Danny Kruger say that the Supreme Court has subverted the will of the people, what people is he exactly talking about, Eton-educated, converted born-again Christians? Mariam Cates, Christian evangelical co-chair of the New Conservatives, is a disciple of Suella and believes Suella is the key to holding on to her red wall seat, a wall that the Tories have barely started to repoint.

Now on to the vitriol in the Braverman resignation letter, no surprise from a narcissist so full of her own BS.

“It has been my privilege to serve as home secretary and deliver on what the British people have sent us to Westminster to do.” What did you deliver or are all your achievements just in your head, classic narcissist? Her big ideas were to transform the UK by withdrawing from the European Convention on Human Rights and other international obligations that would prevent shipping refugees to Rwanda and secondly “Issue unequivocal statutory guidance to schools that protects biological sex, safeguards single-sex spaces, and empowers parents to know what is being taught to their children.”

Then she banged on about her secret deal with Sunak, according to her, he has turned out to be a worm, accusing him of being incompetent, politically inept, lacking leadership qualities, providing no vision (no disagreement there) and a liar. She accused Rishi of magical thinking, well that is a stretch, he is more of a Debbie Magee (sorry Debbie) than a Paul Daniels. She also accused Rishi of not rising to the challenge of dealing with the increase in post-October 7th antisemitism by banning pro-Palestinian marches which she described as hate marches. The only thing she did not accuse Rishi of, was always wearing trousers that were too short. This is from a woman who is seen to be carrying the water of Enoch Powell, by using terms like invasion to describe the small boat crisis and it was her “dream” to send people off to Rwanda. This is from a daughter of migrant parents, a person who could rightly now be described as a “coconut.” She also described homeless people living on the streets as a lifestyle choice and to top it all she is a “climate obstructionist.”

Braverman said, that Britain is at a turning point in our history and faces a threat of radicalisation and extremism. She may have a point, but she is the problem, not the solution if you are trying to build social cohesion.

Finally, she finishes by saying that she has always striven to give voice to the quiet majority which aligns with an authentic conservative agenda. The reality is that the only voice she is interested in is Her head. So, Suella, please join your ideological sister Liz in the political wilderness and stay there.
